A standalone AJAX server can be used in a variety of installation contexts
We need a process that stays running (unlike CGI) in order to maintain connections to Jabber servers, peers, radio hardware, etc.
The infrastructure from this discussion is the same for all these AJAX servers, but may have different application plugins as discussed later.
